Covid Letter to Jerome Mayhew MP in 2021

jerome mayhew parliament

Dear Jerome,

I am writing to express my disdain at the recent restrictions announced by the Government.

Vaccine passports are divisive & discriminatory. They do not stop the spread of Covid. These measures will cost jobs in many sectors, including hospitality. Working from home won’t help our social or economic recovery. There is no evidence that mask mandates or vaccine passports will do anything to “avoid” a rapid rise in hospitalisations. They have done nothing to stop the Covid rise in Italy, France, Germany or anywhere else that imposed those measures.

According to the ONS 98% of the population have antibodies for Covid. Pfizer has today announced three doses of the Pfizer/BioNTech Covid vaccine are effective against the omicron variant. Yesterday Sajid Javid said there have been no hospitalisations from Omicron. So there are  no Omicron patients in the NHS and 5% of bed capacity occupied by Covid patients.

How many times are we going to be told by Johnson & Co. that we must learn to live with this virus only to be repeatedly told we going to be stopped from doing just that?

Boris Johnson said earlier it’s time for a ‘national conversation’ about compulsory vaccination. I think it’s time for national conversation about his compulsory resignation.

When does this normalisation of extraordinary restrictions on people liberties stop? Give up November to save Christmas, Give up Christmas to save January, Give up Spring to save Easter. Just one more jab, oh go on just another. Stay at home to save the NHS, oh sorry we cant treat you now anyway.

What will happen if everyone is vaccinated? Will it stop then? When does it stop? What is your personal line in the sand here?

MPs are there to serve the interests of the people in their constituency and not to blindly follow moronic leadership. I urge you not to support these measures.

My best wishes to you,
